Agriculture Minister Nizar Hani said Lebanon’s 2027 budget gives priority to health, social affairs and infrastructure through the Ministry of Public Works, while expressing hope that productive ministries would receive larger allocations in future budgets.
Speaking to Voice of All Lebanon, Hani said the government was aware of the pressure rising fuel prices were placing on agriculture, industry and other sectors. He said the energy minister would present a proposal at the next Cabinet session, noting that ministers had discussed the possibility of a progressive fuel tax capped at LBP 300,000.
On apples, Hani said the Agriculture Ministry had prepared a roadmap to support exports and was engaging foreign agriculture ministers and importers to encourage greater purchases of Lebanese produce.
