President Joseph Aoun received Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Presidential Palace in Baabda, where they discussed the latest developments in the country, particularly in the south, amid ongoing Israeli attacks on a number of southern towns and villages.
They also discussed measures being taken by the Lebanese Army to reinforce its deployment in non-occupied villages, reassure residents, and allow government institutions to resume operations. The meeting also covered the agenda of tomorrow’s Cabinet session at Baabda Palace and the ongoing discussions on the 2027 budget, which began during government sessions held at the Grand Serail.
Aoun and Salam also followed up on preparations for Salam to head the Lebanese delegation to the U.N. General Assembly meetings during the third week of September.
