MTV Clarifies Shooting Incident Near Security Figure’s Home
A report circulating on WhatsApp claims that the home of a senior security official came under gunfire in the Salim Salam area.
However, MTV website's sources have confirmed that the report is false. The incident actually stems from an altercation that took place in the Salim Salam area last week between two motorcycle drivers over right of way. The clash escalated into gunfire involving a military-grade pistol belonging to one of the individuals, who is from the Zoqaq al-Blat area.
The altercation happened to take place near the home of the security official, but the residence was not targeted in any way.
MTV has learned that the Internal Security Forces’ Information Branch launched an operation following the incident to arrest the person who opened fire.
