Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi received the newly appointed French Ambassador to Lebanon, Patrick Durel, with an accompanying delegation, at the summer patriarchal residence in Diman.
Ambassador Durel highlighted the depth of the historic ties between Lebanon and France, the friendship between the two peoples, particularly the longstanding ties between France and the Maronites, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation and supporting Lebanese institutions.
For his part, Patriarch Rahi welcomed Ambassador Durel, wishing him success in his new diplomatic mission in the country. The Patriarch highlighted the importance of the Lebanese-French relations and expressed appreciation for the attention France accords to Lebanon and its people.
