Prime Minister Nawaf Salam presided over a meeting attended by Chairman of the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR), Mohamad-Ali Kabbani, Chairman and Director General of Beirut Port, Marwan Naffi, Beirut Municipality Head Ibrahim Zeidan, and Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud.
The meeting focused on coordinating efforts among the relevant authorities and discussing several matters of shared strategic importance, particularly the development of the Port of Beirut and public transport in the capital, with a view to ensuring integration between port operations, urban mobility plans, and the city’s infrastructure priorities.
The discussions also covered traffic management and the development of the road network around the port, as well as measures to facilitate access to Beirut, ease congestion, and address bottlenecks affecting port operations and traffic flow in the capital.
The parties agreed to continue coordination and joint technical work to develop an integrated framework aimed at enhancing the role of the Port of Beirut and improving mobility and connectivity across the capital.
