President of the Republic Joseph Aoun condemned the renewed Israeli attacks on the city of Nabatieh and its surrounding towns, which resulted in innocent casualties and severe damages to the Ministry of Finance building and Ghandour Hospital in the city.
This targeting constitutes a dangerous escalation that goes beyond the repeated violations of the cessation of hostilities and the framework agreements. This time, it strikes at Lebanese state institutions and service facilities that cater to citizens' affairs and vital interests, as well as a hospital and health centers, the President underlined.
He considered that targeting the Ministry of Finance building, following the attack on the Public Security center, which had already resulted in fatalities, reveals a persistent pattern of aggression. This pattern extends beyond alleged military targets to encompass purely civilian administrative bodies and health centers, reflecting a clear intent to undermine the continuity of Lebanese institutions and disrupt the daily interests of the people, Aoun maintained.
The President held the Israeli side fully responsible for this ongoing escalation, calling upon the United States and the international community to take urgent action to halt these violations and hold the perpetrators accountable. He also affirmed that Lebanon, despite all these acts of aggression, remains committed to upholding its sovereignty, the stability of the south, and the safety of its citizens.
President Aoun paid tribute to the souls of the innocent martyrs who fell as a result of these acts of aggression, wished the wounded a speedy recovery, and reiterated his full solidarity with the people of the Nabatieh region and the employees of the affected state departments and institutions.
