Berri discusses political, field developments with Salam
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh, with whom he discussed the general situation and the latest political and field developments amid Israel’s escalation of its attacks on Lebanon, particularly in the south.
Speaker Berri also received in Ain El-Tineh Minister of Information Paul Morcos, with whom he discussed the general situation, latest developments, and media related affairs.
Minister Morcos said following the meeting: I was honored today, as always, to meet with Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. We discussed the latest general developments, and I also briefed him on the proposals and draft laws related to the media sector in general, particularly the anticipated additional amendments to the new media law, which would further help advance the reform process that has already begun.
Minister Morcos added that there is full agreement on coordinating with the relevant parties to continue this reform process.
Berri also received Lebanese Press Syndicate Dean Aouni Al-Kaaki.
The meeting addressed general developments, particularly media-related issues, as well as the observations of the media sector, the Press Syndicate and Editors’ Syndicate regarding the new Media Law and the proposed amendments to it.
Separately, Berri received in Ain El-Tineh MP Hadi Aboul Hessen, Secretary of the Democratic Gathering bloc, where they discussed the general situation and the latest political and field developments in light of Israel’s continued aggression against the South and its systematic destruction of villages, towns, health and educational facilities, and the massacres it committed in Kfar Rumman, Deir al-Zahrani, Ansar and Arab Salim, in addition to national and legislative affairs.
