Raggi receives new WHO representative to Lebanon, tackle health sector needs
Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Minister Youssef Raggi received the World Health Organization’s new representative in Lebanon, Dr. Ahmed Zouiten, who presented a copy of his credentials to the Lebanese state.
Raggi welcomed Zouiten and wished him success in his new mission, stressing the longstanding and strong relations between Lebanon and the WHO.
The meeting also addressed the organization’s overall situation internationally amid challenges stemming from financial constraints.
Zouiten said it was a great honor to serve in a position that would allow him to support the Lebanese people.
He briefed Raggi on some of the key needs of Lebanon’s health sector and praised the country’s medical community and the healthcare services it provides.
Zouiten said he would work to help expand access to these services across all segments of Lebanese society.
