Finance, Health Ministers discuss hospital funding
Finance Minister Yassine Jaber received Public Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine at his ministry office for talks on financial matters related to the health sector, particularly funding for hospitalization and public hospitals.
The meeting also addressed outstanding payments owed to hospitals contracted by the state, as well as funding for medicines provided by the Health Ministry to patients suffering from chronic and incurable diseases.
Jaber reaffirmed that the health sector remained a key priority, stressing the importance of ensuring citizens’ access to healthcare and hospitalization services and safeguarding the continuity and operational capacity of public hospitals and hospitals contracted by the state.
He also underscored the need to secure essential medicines, particularly for patients with chronic and incurable illnesses.
Jaber said the Finance Ministry would continue working, within available resources, to address the health sector’s financial needs in a way that helps safeguard health security and ensure continuity of healthcare for citizens.
