Blackmailing Underage Girls Online, and ISF Makes Arrest
Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces (ISF) said they have arrested a Syrian national suspected of blackmailing underage girls.
In a statement, the ISF’s Information Branch said it had received intelligence about an unidentified individual allegedly involved in blackmailing minor girls. Specialized units subsequently launched field and intelligence operations to identify and apprehend the suspect.
Following extensive investigations, the branch identified the suspect as A.M., born in 2004 and a Syrian national.
On Aug. 10, 2026, after conducting surveillance and monitoring, an ISF patrol arrested him in a carefully planned ambush in the Burj al-Barajneh area.
The ISF said legal measures were taken against the suspect, who was referred to the relevant authorities on the instructions of the competent judiciary.
The security forces urged parents to educate their children about the risks of communicating with strangers or untrusted individuals through social media and advised them not to share personal photos or information.
The ISF also called on anyone facing threats or blackmail not to comply with the perpetrator’s demands, to preserve any evidence and to immediately report the incident to the relevant authorities, stressing that early reporting can help protect victims and hold perpetrators accountable.
