Prime Minister Nawaf Salam received at the Grand Serail a delegation from the Greater Lebanon State Gathering , comprising MP Ashraf Rifi, Hayat Arslan, Abdel Majid Awwad, and Saleh Al-Moqaddam.
MP Rifi said the delegation handed Premier Salam an invitation to attend the ceremony marking the anniversary of the proclamation of Greater Lebanon, which will be held next Saturday in Tripoli.
Premier Salam stressed that Greater Lebanon, despite the crises it has experienced, has succeeded in producing diverse thought and a shared culture that brought Lebanese people together despite their different affiliations, while providing a distinctive space for freedom, pluralism, and openness.
Salam emphasized that our responsibility today is to preserve Greater Lebanon, uphold the finality of its entity and borders, and learn from the mistakes of the past. This requires building a state that achieves balanced development, does not leave outlying regions outside the development process, safeguards individual freedoms and rights in a manner that complements the freedom of communities, and enables all Lebanese to be equal partners in shaping the future of their country.
