The Lebanese Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal visited the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan on August 30 and 31, 2026. During the visit, General Haykal met with His Majesty King Abdullah II, at the Royal Al Husseiniya Palace, in the presence of Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, Chairman of the Jordanian Armed Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Ahmad Al Huneiti, and a number of officials.
During the meeting, His Majesty King Abdullah affirmed the Kingdom’s support for Lebanon and its efforts to preserve its security and sovereignty.
His Majesty the King also expressed his full support for the international conference in support of the Lebanese Armed Forces, acheduled to be held in Paris on September 17, 2026, with the aim of strengthening the Army’s operational capabilities and its ability to assume its national responsibilities.
General Haykal also visited the headquarters of the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces, where he was received by Major General Yousef Ahmad Al Huneiti and accorded official welcome ceremony.
A meeting was subsequently held between General Haykal and Major General Al Huneiti in the presence of a number of officers. Discussions focused on the latest developments, ways to enhance cooperation and coordination between the two armies, and the importance of supporting the military institution in light of the challenges it faces.
General Haykal also expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Kingdom for its ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the Lebanese army, in recognition of its national role.
