Druze spiritual leader Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Mouna commemorated the victims of the Beirut port explosion, calling for the judicial investigation into the disaster to be completed as a national and humanitarian necessity.
In a statement marking the sixth memory of the blast, Abi Al-Mouna said the victims must be remembered, stressing the need for the relevant authorities to complete the judicial investigation in a manner that strengthens confidence in the judiciary and ensures that the process is free from interference.
He said judges must be allowed to carry out their duties in accordance with the Constitution and applicable laws.
Justice in this case is a right of the victims and their families, and a duty dictated by judicial and humanitarian principles, Abi Al-Mouna said, urging the authorities to assume their responsibilities and bring the investigation to completion without delay.
He concluded by offering prayers for the victims, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery, and praying for Lebanon’s safety, peace and stability.
