Berri leads a series of meetings
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received French Ambassador to Lebanon Hervé Magro at the second presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh, who came on a farewell visit upon the end of his diplomatic mission in the country.
Speaker Berri’s Advisor, Dr. Mahmoud Berri, was also present.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the general situation and the latest political and field developments, particularly in light of Israel's continued attacks on the occupied southern Lebanese towns and villages.
Speaker Berri later received a delegation of Sunni members of parliament, in the presence of MP Ali Hassan Khalil, ‘’Development and Liberation’ parliamentary bloc member.
The discussion reportedly focused on the general situation, political developments, and legislative affairs, particularly those related to the general amnesty law.
The delegation included MPs Bilal Abdullah, Adnan Traboulsi, Bilal Hashimi, Abdul Rahman Bizri, Muhammad Yehya, Taha Naji, Walid Al-Baarini, Karim Kabbara, Nabil Badr, Muhammad Suleiman, Abdul Aziz Al-Samad, Imad Al-Hout, Ahmed Al-Khair, and Qassem Hashem.
After the meeting, MP Bilal Abdallah said that the discussion focused on a single topic, namely the proposed General Amnesty Law, stressing the need to approach the General Amnesty issue from a national and humanitarian perspective.
Berri later received Jean Arnault, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon (UNSCOL), with whom he discussed the general situation in Lebanon, as well as the latest political and security developments, in light of Israel's continued attacks on the occupied southern Lebanese towns and villages.
