Public Health Minister Rakan Nasreddine continued his visit to Egypt for Africa Health ExCon 2026, where he received the Arab Hospitals Federation’s Leadership Award for strengthening health system resilience in recognition of his efforts to develop Lebanon’s healthcare sector amid the war.
Nasreddine held meetings focused on Egypt’s universal health coverage experience, including talks with Healthcare Authority Chairman Ahmad El-Sobky and Egyptian Drug Authority Chairman Ali El-Ghamrawy.
Discussions covered cooperation in health insurance, digital transformation, capacity-building, quality standards, medical tourism and pharmaceutical regulation. Nasreddine praised Egypt’s healthcare reforms and expressed Lebanon’s interest in benefiting from its expertise, while both sides agreed to continue coordination and develop joint initiatives.
