Minister of Agriculture Nizar Hani began his official visit to the Netherlands with a series of meetings with officials from the Dutch Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Agriculture, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Lebanon and the Netherlands in sustainable agriculture, food security, innovation, and rural development.
The minister emphasized that the partnership with the Netherlands represents a key pillar for developing Lebanon’s agricultural sector, particularly through benefiting from advanced Dutch expertise in agricultural technology, knowledge transfer, and scientific research.
The visit included meetings with Dutch agricultural institutions, presentations on the Netherlands’ agricultural innovation system, a meeting with the farmers’ union, and a visit to the Port of Rotterdam to observe supply chains and export mechanisms.
Hani stressed that developing the agricultural sector is essential for enhancing food security in Lebanon, creating new economic opportunities, and supporting farmers and rural communities, underlining that investment in knowledge and innovation is crucial for the future of Lebanon’s agricultural sector.
