Member of the Strong Republic bloc, MP Antoine Habchi, said that “the way the Syrian president is dealing with the Lebanese state confirms that he does not want to get involved in the Lebanese quagmire, unlike the Assad regime. The Lebanese Forces do not accept anyone infringing on our sovereignty, and the state is required not to delay its responsibilities.”
He added in an interview with MFM that “the mask has fallen and the truth is clear, and one wrongdoing cannot be replaced by another. It is not acceptable to have any army other than our national army, unless the Lebanese state requests, through the United Nations, the deployment of an international force to support the army.”
