President Joseph Aoun said the Lebanese University is not merely an academic institution, but the educational conscience of the state, describing it as a strategic national investment and a pillar in confronting ignorance and marginalization.
Aoun’s remarks came during a meeting with Lebanese University president Bassam Badran and several deans following the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Presidency’s Directorate General and the university.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in training, research, workshops and knowledge exchange, including internship opportunities for students at the presidential palace and lectures by senior officials.
Aoun said the partnership reflects a national commitment to linking state institutions with academic institutions to produce scientific solutions to Lebanon’s challenges.
Badran said the agreement reinforces the university’s role in supporting national policies, citizenship values and youth empowerment.
