Army Responds to U.S. Sanctions on One of Its Officers
The Lebanese Armed Forces – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:
In light of the statement issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury regarding the involvement of a Lebanese Army officer in the leakage of intelligence information during the current year, and noting that the Lebanese Army Command was not informed through the officially established communication channels, the Command affirms that all officers and personnel of the military institution carry out their national duties with full professionalism, responsibility, and discipline, in accordance with the decisions and directives issued by the Army Command.
The Command also stresses that the loyalty of military personnel is exclusively to the military institution and the nation, and that they are committed to fulfilling their national duties away from any other considerations or pressures.
