Fuel station owners’ syndicate head Georges Brax warned that station operators are facing mounting financial losses due to fixed fuel sale commissions and high social security fees imposed on foreign workers.
In a statement, Brax said the Energy Ministry sets a fixed commission on fuel sales, while station owners pay excessive National Social Security Fund contributions for foreign employees who do not benefit from its services.
He said the situation could not continue, warning that the current mechanism was eroding profit margins and inflicting heavy losses on station owners.
Brax added that the sector could soon be forced to take action if the issue remains unresolved.
