It was noted that the media official of the Progressive Socialist Party reiterated that the reason for Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s visit to Syria, heading a delegation, was linked to the preparation of former party leader Walid Jumblatt for the visit, following his recent meeting with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
It was also observed that a post published by the party’s media official on social media was later reposted, hours afterward and without any changes, on a news website, attributed to a parliamentary source. This appears to suggest, according to the report, that the Progressive Socialist Party is deliberately, in a rather obvious way, implying that without Jumblatt, Salam would not have visited Damascus or met its president.
