The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that reports circulating about legal action against Lebanon’s ambassador to the United States, Nada Hamadeh Mouawad, were inaccurate.
The ministry stressed that any judicial measure against public officials requires the explicit approval of the relevant minister, in accordance with applicable laws and procedures.
It also emphasized that Ambassador Maouad’s assignment was made under a mandate from the president, in agreement with the prime minister, and in accordance with the relevant constitutional provisions.
