Change Movement leader Elie Mahfoud wrote on X:
Hezbollah’s militia is not merely defending its weapons; it is clinging to a military structure that places the state under its control. This structure will not voluntarily surrender its weapons, making it necessary to dismantle its military apparatus and hold its leaders accountable before the courts.
The continued transfer of explosives outside state control puts the Lebanese people at risk of disasters that could be no less devastating than the Beirut port explosion.
The state must act before disaster strikes, not after. Its duty is to save and protect people, not leave them hostage to an armed structure that threatens their security and future at every moment.
