Salam chairs meeting on Srar landfill
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam chaired a Grand Serail meeting on demands raised by municipalities surrounding the Srar landfill, attended by Environment Minister Tamara El Zein and relevant officials.
MP Asaad Dergham said Salam had responded to all legitimate demands of municipalities affected by the landfill and tasked the Higher Relief Commission, the Interior and Environment ministries, and the Council for Development and Reconstruction with immediately beginning implementation.
Dergham added that participants agreed the Srar landfill should receive waste exclusively from Akkar and rejected the transfer of waste from outside the governorate.
