The Internal Security Forces’ Public Relations Division issued the following statement:
As part of the Internal Security Forces’ ongoing efforts to combat all types of crime across Lebanon, the Bekaa Investigation Detachment of the Regional Gendarmerie Unit received information that a woman identified as S.B. (born in 1974, Lebanese) was practicing beauty treatments without a license at a salon in the Ksara area of Zahle.
Following up on the information, a detachment from the unit went to the location accompanied by a Health Ministry inspector and arrested S.B., as well as the salon’s owner, identified as N.K. (born in 1988, Lebanese).
The unit uncovered the following:
A device for removing warts and skin moles
Two facial cleansing devices
A laser device and a carbon facial cleansing device
Eighteen Korean-made Botox vials of various sizes, some of them partially used
Filler injections and other types of injectable products
A fat-dissolving device and glass containers holding substances used for injections and cosmetic procedures
The main suspect, identified as Z.M., was also identified. She allegedly recruits and manages others to perform unlicensed medical cosmetic procedures, particularly Botox and filler injections. A wanted notice has been issued against her.
A Health Ministry report confirmed that some of the seized injections had expired, while others had been packaged without any information on their source, name or expiration date. Another quantity was found to be unlicensed and had been brought into Lebanon illegally.
The seized cosmetic products were confiscated, and the salon was closed and sealed with red wax. The two detainees and the seized items were handed over to the relevant unit for further investigation and the necessary legal action, under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
