Aoun briefed by Central Bank Governor on banking sector related developments
President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, was briefed by Banque du Liban Governor Karim Souaid on the latest developments concerning the banking sector and monetary and financial stability.
Discussions touched on the ongoing reform of the banking sector and its regulatory framework, the upcoming visit of an International Monetary Fund delegation to Lebanon, as well as Lebanon’s standing and the progress it has made in complying with international standards on transparency, financial integrity, anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism.
The meeting also covered measures being taken by Banque du Liban to strengthen confidence in the financial sector and consolidate stability.
