Aoun Reviews Southern Security Situation, State Security Presence in Nabatieh
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun reviewed security and emergency response operations in southern Lebanon during separate meetings with Civil Defense Director General Brigadier, General Imad Khreish and State Security Director General, Major General Edgar Lawandos.
Khreish briefed Aoun on Civil Defense operations in southern villages and towns targeted by Israeli attacks, as well as its activities across Lebanon, including firefighting and relief operations. Discussions also covered the needs of the Civil Defense.
Separately, Lawandos briefed Aoun on the country’s security situation and measures taken to strengthen State Security’s presence across southern Lebanon, particularly in the Nabatieh area, in implementation of discussions held during the security meeting chaired by the president last Wednesday.
Aoun and Lawandos also reviewed State Security’s efforts to combat corruption and strengthen oversight within public administrations and institutions.
