Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar affirmed that Lebanon will rise stronger than ever, stressing that southern cities and villages would be rebuilt through the determination of their residents and the efforts of their municipalities.
Receiving several southern municipal delegations, Al-Hajjar expressed hope that Lebanon would enjoy security and peace, saying the Lebanese people deserved to live in safety and stability.
Al-Hajjar met Bint Jbeil Mayor Mohammad Bazzi and municipal council members, who briefed him on challenges facing the town, including plans for managing displacement and facilitating residents’ return when conditions permit.
The delegation also presented Al-Hajjar with a report documenting the scale of destruction and Israeli attacks on Bint Jbeil, along with a series of technical and logistical requests.
Hajjar separately received Rmeish Mayor Hanna Al-Amil and Debel Mayor Akl Naddaf for talks on supporting municipalities in meeting residents’ needs and providing essential services amid the challenges facing frontline villages.
Al-Amil and Naddaf reaffirmed residents’ commitment to the Lebanese state and their determination to remain steadfast in their villages.
