Lebanon Prepares for Another Hot Week

Lebanon’s Meteorological Department forecast partly cloudy weather tomorrow, with fog over the mountains and a slight rise in temperatures in mountainous and inland areas, while temperatures along the coast will remain stable. Scattered drizzle is expected over the northern mountains before noon, with skies clearing to mostly sunny conditions in the afternoon.

General situation:

Moderate summer weather is expected to prevail across Lebanon, with temperatures below seasonal averages and some localized fluctuations. Starting Wednesday, the region will gradually come under the influence of relatively hot air masses from the Arabian Peninsula, bringing a rise in temperatures, particularly in mountainous and inland areas, where temperatures are expected to exceed seasonal averages through the end of the week.

Average August temperatures: Tripoli 24–32°C, Beirut 25–33°C, and Zahle 18–35°C.

Weather forecast:

Tuesday: Partly cloudy with fog over the mountains. Little change in temperatures, with occasionally strong winds before noon. Scattered light rain is expected at times, particularly over the northern mountains.

Wednesday: Partly cloudy with fog over the mountains. A slight rise in temperatures is expected in mountainous and inland areas, while temperatures along the coast will remain stable. Scattered drizzle is possible over the northern mountains before noon, with skies becoming mostly clear in the afternoon.

Thursday: Generally mostly clear, with localized fog over the mountains. Temperatures will rise noticeably in mountainous and inland areas, exceeding seasonal averages, while remaining largely unchanged along the coast. High humidity will increase the feeling of heat.

Friday: Mostly clear, with a further rise in temperatures, particularly in mountainous and inland areas. Humidity will remain high along the coast, increasing the feeling of heat.

Temperatures will range between 24°C and 32°C along the coast, 15°C and 27°C in the mountains, and 18°C and 35°C inland.

Winds will be southwesterly during the day, occasionally strong, and light and variable at night, with speeds ranging between 15 and 35 km/h.

Visibility will be moderate along the coast and reduced over mid-altitude areas due to fog.
