MP Kassem Hachem said the situation in south Lebanon cannot be considered a ceasefire, calling instead for a comprehensive halt to hostilities and Israel’s withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territory.
Speaking in an interview, Hachem said the issue of weapons is an internal matter that should be addressed through national consensus and not dictated by foreign powers or Israel.
He added that Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri’s position was clear: if Israel honors the ceasefire and begins withdrawing, Hezbollah has committed to its side, while the Lebanese side would take the necessary steps to safeguard the country’s security and stability.
