Prime Minister Nawaf Salam chaired a meeting dedicated to following up on reconstruction efforts in the city of Nabatieh.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Public Works and Transport Fayez Rasamny, President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction Mohammad Ali Kabbani, President of the Council of the South Hashem Haidar, Director General of Urban Planning Ali Ramadan, Director of the Central Operations Room at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers Zahi Shaheen, Nabatieh Municipality Head Abbas Fakhr El-Din, and Municipal Council members Hussein Jaber, Khodor Qodeih, Mohammad Kaheel, and Mohammad Hijazi.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Salam stressed that revitalizatizing the city of Nabatieh, the capital of Jabal Amel, is a key priority as part of efforts to revive the South and ensure the return of its residents to their towns and villages, emphasizing the importance of the city’s role as the governorate's center and its administrative, economic, and service functions.
The meeting reviewed the progress made in the return and recovery process in the city, and discussed the key needs and challenges it continues to face, particularly in terms of infrastructure, facilities, and public services.
The participants agreed on mechanisms to follow up on these issues and coordinate efforts among the relevant authorities, with a view to expediting the implementation of priority measures and projects.
