Bassil, British Ambassador discuss Israeli attacks
Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Gebran Bassil received British Ambassador to Lebanon Hamish Cowell, accompanied by the embassy’s Second Secretary for Political Affairs Olivia Jones, in the presence of MP Cesar Abi Khalil.
Discussions covered security and political developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly the need to halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon, secure a full Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territory, establish a permanent ceasefire, and uphold Lebanon’s sovereignty and independence.
The meeting also addressed the importance of supporting domestic stability and strengthening the role of the state and its institutions through the enactment and implementation of reform legislation.
The two sides also discussed Lebanese-British relations and ways to further develop cooperation across various fields.
