Intense Israeli escalation hits Tyre district
The Israeli army stepped up its attacks on southern Lebanon, with the Tyre district coming under sustained bombardment from last night until dawn and into the morning. The escalation included a series of airstrikes and artillery shelling targeting several areas.
Israeli drones carried out three strikes on the Al-Malaab neighborhood of Burj al-Chmali, followed by a fourth strike by Israeli fighter jets on the same location. The attacks wounded four people, who were transferred to hospitals in Tyre, while reports indicated that some residents fled the town toward the city amid the strikes.
Israeli warplanes also launched three airstrikes on the town of Mansouri and the area between Mansouri and Majdal Zoun, coinciding with artillery fire and tank shelling directed at Mansouri.
Lebanese Army units and ambulance crews later entered the strike site in Burj al-Chmali to conduct field inspections and check for any additional casualties or people trapped under the rubble.
The artillery bombardment continued from last night into this morning, targeting Mansouri, Majdal Zoun, and nearby valleys. At dawn, the shelling expanded toward the outskirts of Hadatha, while Israeli forces also opened machine-gun fire toward the coastal area of Al-Hamra in Beit Lif.
