Aoun holds a series of meetings
President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received MP Melhem Riachy, who visited Baabda Palace as an envoy of Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, and briefed him on the outcome of the president’s recent visit to Washington.
Riachy reiterated the Lebanese Forces’ support for Aoun’s positions and his national approach aimed at extending state authority across all Lebanese territory.
Separately, Aoun met Apostolic Nuncio to Lebanon Archbishop Paolo Borgia, with whom he reviewed the results of his talks in Washington, including his meeting with US President Donald Trump.
The discussions also covered the situation in southern Lebanon amid continuing Israeli attacks, demolition operations, and the needs of residents who have remained in the border villages despite the ongoing security situation.
Borgia reaffirmed Pope Leo XIV’s continued concern for Lebanon and his commitment to supporting efforts to achieve security and stability in the country.
