“ISIS King” in Syria Charged in Lebanon Over Alleged Terror Plot
MTV sources reported that Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Claude Ghanem has charged “Haytham R.”, described as the “ISIS King” in southern and western Syria, with preparing terrorist acts from Lebanese territory targeting safe areas in Syria, particularly Daraa and Idlib, and with threatening Syrian security and stability and spreading chaos.
Sources told MTV that security forces arrested “Haytham R.” and two of his brothers inside a butcher shop in northern Lebanon. However, the judiciary released his two brothers and kept them under investigation.
According to the sources, the ISIS figure had been communicating with a group affiliated with the organization in Syria via Telegram, sending plans and orders to target Syrian army and security personnel and carry out multiple terrorist operations in Syria.
