Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Boutros Rahi, received several delegations at the patriarchal residence in Diman to discuss development, pastoral, social and national initiatives.
Order of Malta Lebanon President Marwan Sehnaoui presented a project to rehabilitate agricultural spaces in the patriarchate’s garden, cultivate medicinal and aromatic plants, develop handicrafts and install a sanitation system to protect the Qadisha Valley. The project is scheduled to be inaugurated on August 29.
Rahi also reviewed university pastoral programs, a collective wedding planned by the Maronite League for September 5, and initiatives supporting families and children’s education.
A delegation representing Khaldeh clans reaffirmed support for the state, the Constitution, the Taif Agreement and the exclusive possession of arms by state institutions, while raising the Khaldeh events and general amnesty file.
Rahi stressed the need for cooperation among Lebanese institutions and initiatives that support families, youth and citizens’ attachment to their land.
