Kataeb Leader, Syrian FM discuss new chapter in bilateral relations
Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel met Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Shibani to discuss Lebanese-Syrian relations and prospects for a new phase between the two countries.
Al-Shibani said the visit aims to open a new chapter based on mutual respect, cooperation and recognition of Lebanon as a sovereign state, adding that no initiative related to Hezbollah was discussed.
Gemayel called for relations founded on political independence and economic integration, expressing hope that the visit would mark the beginning of a new era of cooperation between Lebanon and Syria.
