President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received a delegation from the councils of the Beirut and Tripoli Bar Associations, during a visit in which the delegation reaffirmed its support for the state's efforts, the protection of the Constitution, and the enforcement of laws.
Head of Beirut Bar Association Imad Martinos said that the Councils of the Beirut and Tripoli Bar Associations reaffirmed to President Aoun their commitment to safeguarding the Constitution, protecting legitimacy, and enforcing the law. They also reaffirmed their support for the President’s efforts aimed at liberating Lebanese territory, securing the withdrawal of the Israeli army, extending the authority of the state and the Lebanese Army across the entire Lebanese territory, and ensuring that arms remain exclusively in the hands of the legitimate state authorities, while stressing their rejection of strife.
For his part, Tripoli Bar Association Head Marwan Daher said: We support any agreement or diplomatic process that secures the withdrawal of the Israeli army from all Lebanese territory, the return of the displaced, reconstruction, and the release of detainees. We stressed that arms must be held exclusively by the Lebanese state and that it alone should have the authority to decide on war and peace, as peace that preserves sovereignty and rights is a victory for Lebanon.
