Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri met former Deputy Speaker Elie Ferzli to discuss the latest political developments and national affairs.
Following the meeting, Ferzli said Israel’s objective since the start of the war has been to shift the conflict from the border to Lebanon’s interior, warning against internal strife and stressing the need to preserve national unity, strengthen state institutions, support the Lebanese Armed Forces, secure Israel’s withdrawal to the internationally recognized borders, implement the Armistice Agreement, and place all weapons under state authority.
Berri also met MP Jihad Al Samad, chairman of the parliamentary Defense, Interior and Municipalities Committee. Samad described the framework agreement as stillborn, arguing that it legitimizes the occupation. He expressed confidence in the Lebanese Army and its leadership, while warning against any attempt to draw the military into a confrontation with the Lebanese people.
