Aoun: Army Will Implement Agreement, Jokes “You’d Think Trump Was Lebanese”
This is Lebanon's last chance, and the agreement must be implemented. That, in essence, is the mood inside the presidential palace regarding the joint framework signed in Washington and its accompanying security annex.
According to palace insiders, the President is aware that the agreement is not the best possible outcome, but it is the best achievable option to put an end to the devastating war in Lebanon. He conveyed this message to visitors at the palace just hours ago.
But when will implementation of the framework and its security annex begin?
According to officials and sources close to the ongoing contacts, the answer is: Soon.
