Aoun Reviews Preparations for Framework Agreement Implementation With Cooper
President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, received this afternoon at Baabda Palace the Commander of the US Central Command, Admiral Brad Cooper, in the presence of US Embassy Chargé d’Affaires in Beirut, Keith Hanigan, and the head of the Mechanism committee, Major General Joseph R. Clearfield.
The meeting focused on preparations for the implementation of the framework Agreement, which was approved following the Lebanese-US-Israeli negotiations held in Washington.
President Aoun thanked Admiral Cooper for the interest shown by US President Donald Trump in helping Lebanon achieve security and stability. President Aoun reaffirmed the Lebanese state’s determination to extend its authority through its armed forces up to the internationally recognized southern border.
