President of the Republic Joseph Aoun received a phone call from Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis during which they discussed the current developments in Lebanon and the region, particularly efforts to end the war in Lebanon in light of the framework agreement reached through the Lebanese-American-Israeli negotiations in Washington.
In this context, Prime Minister Mitsotakis reaffirmed Greece's support for the framework agreement and for the positions adopted by President Aoun and the Lebanese government to extend the state's sovereignty across all Lebanese territory. Mitsotakis also expressed Greece's readiness to assist Lebanon in enabling it to overcome the difficult phase it is going through in various fields, particularly in terms of supporting the Lebanese Army, pointing out that he had tasked the Greek Minister of Defense with coordinating with his Lebanese counterpart on this matter.
President Aoun thanked Prime Minister Mitsotakis for the positions adopted by Greece in support of Lebanon on various levels, highlighting the historic Lebanese-Greek relations and the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite the two countries.
