Menassa tackles regional developments with Japanese ambassador, officials
Defence Minister, Major General Michel Menassa, met with Japanese Ambassador to Lebanon Yokota Kenji at Yarzeh, where talks focused on current developments and challenges facing Lebanon and the region amid exceptional circumstances.
The Japanese ambassador expressed hope for stronger bilateral relations and voiced support for ongoing and upcoming negotiations aimed at reaching a permanent ceasefire.
Menassa thanked Japan for its continued support to Lebanon and the Lebanese army, particularly in mine clearance and military medical assistance.
The defence minister also met former MP Hadi Hobeich to discuss national and development issues, and separately held talks with Change Movement leader Elie Mahfoud on political developments and challenges facing Lebanon.
