Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon Miguel de Lucas González, in a protocol visit marking the start of his diplomatic mission, with talks covering bilateral Lebanese-Spanish relations and current developments.
Berri also met Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine to discuss the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, particularly in the south and western Bekaa, and their impact on the healthcare, hospital and emergency response sectors. The minister also briefed him on the ministry’s current programmes and priorities.
Separately, Berri held talks with parliamentary Defence, Interior and Municipalities Committee chairman MP Jihad al-Samad on political and security developments, legislative matters and the displaced persons file.
Former deputy prime minister and defence minister Zeina Akar was also among the visitors to Ain Al-Tineh.
