Deputy head of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council Sheikh Ali al-Khatib discussed regional developments with Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon Alaa Moussa in Hazmieh.
Moussa described the current phase as difficult and stressed that diplomacy remains the best path toward solutions, expressing hope for renewed negotiations and emphasizing the importance of Lebanese unity.
Al-Khatib said Lebanon relies on Egypt’s experience and regional role, reaffirming support for internal unity amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
The Egyptian ambassador also highlighted efforts by Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan to bridge differences between the United States and Iran in hopes of easing regional tensions.
