Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Bechara Rahi, reaffirmed commitment to coexistence, national unity and Lebanon’s recovery during a meeting in Diman with a delegation from the Association of Mukhtars of Bsharri district.
Rahi said Lebanon would rise again despite destruction and crises, stressing that Christians in Lebanon reject hatred and remain committed to values of love and forgiveness.
Moreover, Rahi described recent insults against him as painful, particularly amid what he called the absence of clear condemnations from some officials, but insisted on preserving coexistence and mutual respect.
The patriarch also emphasized Lebanon’s unique identity as a state based on citizenship rather than sectarian affiliation.
