Hezbollah’s Media Relations condemned in the strongest terms what it described as a treacherous and brutal crime committed once again by the Israeli enemy against the free national media, targeting journalist Amal Khalil, a courageous field reporter for Al-Akhbar, who was killed while carrying out her duty to report the truth and expose what it called the enemy’s crimes.
In a statement, the party said that the deliberate targeting of Khalil, along with the injury of her colleague Zainab Faraj and the obstruction of paramedics from reaching them after they had taken shelter in a house that was later directly struck, constitutes a full-fledged crime. It added that the incident reflects deep hostility toward Lebanese nationals and represents what it described as a failed attempt to silence independent media voices that document and expose such actions.
The party mourned Khalil and extended its condolences to the Al-Akhbar newspaper, the Lebanese media community, her family, and her loved ones, while wishing a speedy recovery to Faraj.
It also stressed that the work of the national media will continue, saying that such attacks will not succeed in silencing voices that speak out for truth and freedom.
