Editors’ Syndicate condemns killing of journalist Amal Khalil, urges international action
The Lebanese Press Editors Syndicate strongly condemned the Israeli strike that killed journalist Amal Khalil and seriously wounded Zeinab At Tiri in Tayri, noting Khalil had previously received direct threats. The toll of media martyrs has risen to 27.
The syndicate called on the Arab Journalists Union and international bodies to act against the deliberate targeting of journalists and ensure accountability.
It urged field reporters to exercise maximum caution and coordinate with the Lebanese Army, security forces and UNIFIL.
The syndicate also pressed the Lebanese government to pursue urgent legal action internationally, warning of grave consequences if violations persist.
