Makhzoumi: Lebanon between lessons from the past, opportunities to build the future
MP Fouad Makhzoumi wrote on his X account: The fiftieth anniversary of April 13 is a painful date in the lives of the Lebanese, which can only be erased by learning from past experiences and preventing the recurrence of everything that leads to strife and chaos. Learning from this is achieved by having only one weapon in the hands of the legitimate government, by eliminating all Lebanese and non-Lebanese weapons, and by implementing Resolution 1701 and the Taif Agreement, which stipulates the extension of the state's sole authority over its territory.
Makhzoumi added: Lebanon has a precious opportunity to build the present and the future. The path to this goal can only be achieved through a state of institutions embraced by the international community and the Arab world, and fortified by the constitution and international legitimacy.
Let us, as Lebanese, come together to build a real state, protect coexistence, and ensure the return of our children from abroad. Let us confront wars and destruction with Lebanon's most important characteristic: a culture of life, he affirmed.
