Palm Sunday in Koura
The Koura region celebrated Palm Sunday with festive Masses and processions held in the courtyards of churches. At the Church of Saint Sassin in the town of Aafsadiq, Father Yaacoub Haneen led the Mass, attended by a crowd of faithful.
After the reading of the Holy Gospel, Father Haneen delivered a sermon in which he discussed the significance of Palm Sunday, explaining why the faithful and children carry palm fronds, olive branches, and candles during the processions, emphasizing the role of prayer and faith in bringing inner peace.
Father Joseph Andari also led the Mass at Saint George's Church in Barsa - Harat al Khassa, urging the congregation to emulate Christ's life, humility, and love.
The celebrations concluded with processions in the church courtyards, where children carried palm fronds, olive branches, and candles, chanting the hymns: Hosanna in the highest, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
